Triptych

Triptych is a collection of pieces inspired by musical motifs and emotional impressions drawn from the film scores of Michał Lorenc. Rather than referencing any specific compositions, I based the creative process on personal musical memories and the atmosphere of the 1990s—both the character of that era and the emotions I experienced while watching films featuring Lorenc’s music.

The process began with a few simple phrases. Harmony was added later, forming a base that I then developed further, guided by the feelings those films evoked in me. I didn’t attempt to recreate any existing score or strive for a perfectly constructed musical line; instead, I let the music evolve naturally from memory and emotion.

I encourage listeners to revisit Michał Lorenc’s cinematic work and enjoy the process of discovering which films may have inspired the different movements of Triptych.

Messenger’s Lullaby features a lyrical melody shadowed by a dissonant, “dirty” second voice, creating a bittersweet emotional texture.

Note from the Moon is a light, jazz-tinged impression—an airy, semi-improvised moment that suggests a playful, dreamlike mood.

Rosette’s Allocation is built on a steady bass foundation, over which the melody unfolds. This layering was intended to create a sense of depth and spatial resonance.
